I wasn’t thrilled about the idea of paying for a closer when the Tigers already have a couple guys that could step up and fill the role. I definitely do NOT support paying Valverde $12m+ for two years; that’s more than Fernando Rodney got from the Angels! Remember Rodney, the closer they LET GO to SAVE PAYROLL? Ugh, please let this be a rumor and nothing more.
Randy Johnson has been in the major leagues almost as long as I have been aware baseball existed. I really enjoyed watching him get his 300th win this year. So long, big guy.. I have a feeling it’ll be awhile before someone dominates the game for as long you did.
So, I have a couple resolutions that I’m not getting into publicly, but one that I will share is my second attempt at taking a photo per day for a year. I tried to do it for 2009, but I didn’t purchase my dSLR until February, and a couple weeks into 09 I lost the charger for my point & shoot camera for awhile.. and gave up. For what it’s worth, flickr tells me I uploaded 1155 photos in 2009. Not bad. Anyway, the set is here if you’re interested.
With 2010 comes something of a responsibility rather than a resolution; I am now a moderator for a very popular - and very awesome - Detroit Tigers site, Bless You Boys. The site has a new managing editor (props to Ian, who did a fine job of running it for the last few years and is sticking around to write from time to time), Kurt, who brought me on as well as some other editors. I’ll mostly be hanging around the game threads, which I do anyway, helping to run things smoothly. When I go to spring training I’ll probably be posting about what I see on there, as well as here on No Run Support (for my legions of readers.. yeah right :) So I’m excited about that!
Back to watching ESPN Classic and the awesome games of the 00’s they’ve been showing all day.
